As the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation (SRCCF) celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is honoring the deep and lasting impact of funds created by compassionate community members.

This week, SRCCF spotlights transformative funds that address health, wellness, and education – each one a testament to the power of hope, healing, and love in action.

“These funds don’t just support service – they carry stories, memories, and deep purpose,” said Fran Brolley, President and CEO of SRCCF.

“They were born out of people’s desire to bring light to others, even in the midst of their own pain.”

Fund examples include:

  • Recognize Your Strength. Founded by Mary Considine to support children and teens whose parents are battling substance abuse, it provides mental health counseling, clothing, and essential supplies – helping youth reclaim a sense of safety and worth.
  • Maitri Path to Wellness supports trauma-informed wellness and mental health initiatives that take a holistic approach to healing. It helps individuals find peace, purpose, and personal restoration through therapy, mindfulness, and education.
  • Allison McDowell Fund for Mental Health Support works to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness while providing direct support to individuals and families in crisis.
  • Goodnight, Angel Jade Memorial Field of Interest Fund promotes suicide prevention and emotional health awareness among youth. Through education and advocacy, this fund is helping rewrite the narrative of loss into one of courage, awareness, and hope.

“These funds represent the spirit of generosity that has defined the Foundation’s work –transforming grief into action, vision into change, and love into legacy,” said Brolley.
