As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are deeply grateful for the support of highly respected individuals like you for helping us improve the quality of life in the region.
Helping our community overcome
Mary Considine is an example of the kind of leader we work with to enhance our community. Mary partnered with us to create “Recognize Your Strength” (RYS) to provide mental health support to youth whose parents are active abusers of alcohol and narcotics. During the holidays, Mary provides new clothes, shoes and winter gear to those vulnerable children and teens.
With your help, Starved Rock Country Community Foundation has championed Mary’s mission with fiscal sponsorship as she works toward IRS tax-exempt status for RYS, one of 130 community-strengthening funds managed by SRCCF.
Since 2015, SRCCF has distributed over $3 million in community investments, grants and scholarships. We inspire local giving, by local people, for local causes. In 2025 alone, we partnered with the Mendota Historical Society, Acres of Peace (a refuge for military veterans suffering from PTSD), Illinois Valley Food Pantry, and other indispensable local nonprofits.
