Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center Receives $3,000 WIN Grant

Women Inspired Network, a component fund of the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation, recently awarded $9,100 in grants to local nonprofits including $3,000 for Braveheart Children’s Advocacy Center of Princeton. Braveheart of Bureau, Marshall and Putnam counties strengthens the region’s response to child abuse through prevention, intervention and advocacy.

“Our mission is to support children and families affected by abuse and trauma, providing them with the resources, services, and care they need to heal,” said Jackie Diediker, Braveheart executive director. Services include therapy, forensic interviews, advocacy, and case management – all free of charge – “to ensure no family faces additional financial burdens when seeking help,” Diediker said.

The WIN grant will allow Braveheart to expand its resource library by 100-150 books. The texts will focus on educational, emotional and developmental topics related to abuse, neglect and trauma.

Women Inspired Network is a charitable giving circle of local philanthropic women who make annual contributions to empower and enhance the quality of life for women and children has awarded nearly $100,000 in grants and scholarships.
