We have been assisted during our years with a multitude of different volunteers, organizations and businesses as we have sought to end hunger in the Streatorland area. The food pantry has been there to offer emergency assistance, emotional support, educational opportunities and many other opportunities to fulfill our mission. The pantry has partnered with programs like “Stamp Out Hunger” and we are constantly looking for opportunities to increase food hunger awareness.
We welcome working with volunteer and organizational partnerships to help struggling families with resources to overcome barriers and improve people’s lives.
Beginning in 2023, the Streatorland Food Pantry Board joined with the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation to create a long term giving opportunity. The Streatorland Community Foundation is designed to ensure that financial gifts given to the food pantry via the foundation are held for the long term viability of the pantry. The foundation offers security for gifts that will continue to support the pantry well and beyond today’s current needs.
