Organizations like yours that support essential services in your communities have never been more important and you understand the most pressing needs.”
“We cannot thank the team at Compeer Financial enough for this incredible donation to our community, and for recognizing the value the SRCCF brings to our region,” said Beckett. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation was also selected to receive $50,000 from the State of Illinois COVID-19 Grantmakers Response Fund to disburse throughout LaSalle, Bureau, Putnam and parts of Livingston and Marshall counties.
This charitable fund was created by the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations, the Illinois United Way, the Grand Victoria Foundation, the Pritzker Foundation, Governor and Mrs. Pritzker and other large funders. In collaboration with the United Way agencies of Eastern LaSalle Country, Streator, Bureau County and Illinois Valley, local non-profit agencies providing basic human needs services were awarded grants to supplement their own financial resources as they serve various impacted populations to the highest degree possible.
Priority was given to non-profit agencies who support residents in need of emergency food and basic supplies; interim housing and shelter; primary health care services; utility and financial assistance; supports for children and other vulnerable populations, nonprofit safety and operations assistance. To accept the state funding, as well as any additional contributions the SRCCF receives for this purpose, we created the SRC Covid-19 Response Fund and the SRC Disaster Resource Fund. Donated funds will be restricted to serve those in need as a result of the Coronavirus, and 100% of the contributions will be available to help. No administrative fees will assessed against the Fund.
