Prior to his death, Bob Moore committed a portion of his estate trust to scholarships for deserving youth in Wenona, Illinois who are in need of financial assistance to pursue a college education. This scholarship will be awarded based on financial need, so more than one may be awarded.

2025 Scholarship Season Now Open!

2024 Recipient

The $3,000 Moore scholarship goes to Clare Phillips of Wenona. Clare will attend Illinois Valley Community College to major in Business and Marketing and transfer to a four-year university. Clare stated in her essay that taking a business course in high school from a great teacher opened her eyes to the many opportunities in business and marketing. Her parents are Jeffrey & Robin Phillips.

Aralyn McCullough, of Wenona, will attend Illinois Wesleyan University in the fall to study Fine Arts and Graphic Design. In her essay Aralyn indicated that she has always relied on art, specifically drawing and painting, to help her with her anxiety. Aralyn stated she finds these passions are helpful to calm her. She is excited to attend college to improve her art skills. She is the daughter of Hilary & Jamie Gott.

Zoey Dye, of Wenona, plans to attend Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida to study Communication Sciences and Disorders. She would eventually like to complete a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. In her essay, Zoey states that she is quite certain she would enjoy working with children in a school setting, as she loves being around children and babysitting whenever possible. She is the daughter of Chris & Annie Dye.
