Starved Rock Country Community Foundation (SRCCF) announces their upcoming events to celebrate Community Foundation Week on November 12-18, 2026. Community Foundation Week was created in 1989 by former President George H. W. Bush to recognize the important work of community foundations throughout America.
Presented by Hometown National Bank, SRCCF will kick off Community Foundation week with “The New BLT” on Thursday, November 12, hosted by The Vue at Heritage Harbor. The New BLT dinner includes a delicious lobster tail or T-bone dinner and bourbon tasting. Dinner will be served by Harbor House by Valentino’s. Financial Plus Credit Union, First Federal Savings Bank, Shaw Media, Shaw Local Radio, WCMY, Starved Rock Media, and Bedeker Farms are also valued sponsors for the event. Tickets are $80 per person or $150 per couple and may be purchased at srccf.org/event/the-new-blt/.
SRCCF continues Community Foundation week with a BINGO night at the Ottawa VFW on Friday, November 13. Proceeds from the event will be donated to SRCCF.
Throughout the week, SRCCF will host a text-a-thon, where donors and curious individuals alike can text “SRCCF” to 53555 and follow the prompts to donate or learn more about SRCCF’s involvement in Starved Rock Country over the past eleven years.
