OTTAWA, IL–The Arts of Starved Rock Country Fund awarded grants to 11 initiatives in 2026 for a total of $13,931.47. The application process is a competitive one during which a team of grant evaluators use a common scoring rubric to assist in determining the recipients during each grant session.
Arts and cultural organizations receiving funding for the 2026 Spring Session included:
- The Nell’s Woodland Foundation–$2,800 for materials and supplies for an art mentorship program
- Ladd Public Library District–$142.50 for the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge program
- Camp Tuckabatchee, Inc.–$2,000 for arts and crafts supplies for summer camp programs
- Community Players of Streator–$1,750 for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest performance
- Arukah Institute of Healing–$407 for supplies and materials to implement an Art for Wellness program
- Illinois Valley Brain Injury Clubhouse–$1,831.97 for materials for a 6-month art therapy program
- NCI ArtWorks–$400 for a series of art exhibitions
- Princeton Theater Group (Festival 56)–$1,500 to support their Summer Theatre Arts Camp
- Stage 212, Inc.–$1,500 for support of their annual Children’s Theatre Production
- Ottawa Center for the Arts–$1,500 for funding to implement a vocal performance by Kate Tombaugh based on the life of Edith Piaf
- Ottawa Concert Association–$500 for funding to partially support their ongoing concert performance
The Arts of Starved Rock Country Fund is a component fund of the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation. Additional funding for the grant program is provided, in part, by the Illinois Arts Council.
