NCI ARTworks is delighted to announce a major arts/humanities collaboration with the Perfectly Flawed Foundation during Recovery Month in 2023. On September 8, 2023, NCI ARTworks will host an opening reception for artists whose work has been selected for inclusion in the “From Harm to Hope” exhibit. The collaboration will include a month-long exhibit of recovery-related art in various mediums: oil, watercolor, digital, photography, and ceramic, wood, or metal sculptures. In addition to the exhibit, we have invited prominent public speakers to address the issue of substance use, trauma, and recovery at the opening event. The art on exhibit and an accompanying 11x14 layflat coffee table book will be available for purchase on the NCI ARTworks website, the Perfectly Flawed Foundation website, on individual artists’ websites, and on our respective social media platforms. If you are interested in submitting up to 5 images for consideration to be included in the exhibit and the accompanying coffee table book, please email the images, sizes, and prices to outreach@nciartworks.com by May 31, 2023. Art will be selected and the artists notified by June 30, 2023. The “From Harm to Hope” exhibit will emphasize all aspects of substance use, trauma, and recovery. Artists are encouraged to exhibit original art and to make prints of their work available to the public as well. Please share this Call for Artists with people who might be interested in participating in the exhibit. Thank you and best regards, Julia M.
