The Women Inspired Network created the Young Women Leaders Scholarship to help young women pursue their dreams and goals through leadership and higher education. 

2025 Scholarship Season Now Open!

It is awarded in accordance with established criteria, answers to two defined essay questions and an additional essay of the applicant’s choosing that tells us what else we should know about her. 

Applicants will also need two letters of recommendation from educators or employers who can attest to her worthiness as a recipient of the WIN Scholarship. 

2024 WIN Young Women Leaders Scholarship recipient:

The $3,000 WIN scholarship goes to Kate Passwater of Ottawa. Kate will attend Iowa State University in the fall to major in Computer Science. In her essay, Kate said a computer science degree will enable her to work in data analysis for drug trials. She is keenly aware of the gender data gap and intends to help underrepresented communities in the medical system. Her parents are Kit and Jennifer Passwater.

2023 WIN Young Women Leaders Scholarship recipient:

We are delighted to award the 2023 WIN Young Women Leaders Scholarship to Corinne Francis, of Ottawa. Corinne plans to attend Northern Illinois University in the fall to major in Art/Illustration. Corinne states in her essay that she believes her purpose in life is to become an illustrator of picture books that feature historically marginalized children and promote diversity.  She is the daughter of Kevin and Heather Francis.

The SRCCF does not share donor names, gift amounts, or fund-specific giving information to partner organizations, or any outside party, Donors may choose to share their own giving information directly with those organizations, but such disclosures will never come from SRCCF.
