Stephen Charles Vogler Memorial Scholarship for Electronics & Communications

To celebrate the life and generosity of Stephen Charles Vogler, the former Chief Engineer for WLPO, WAJK & 96.5, Starved Rock Media created the Stephen Charles Vogler Memorial Scholarship. His generosity has allowed these stations to remain 100% locally owned and operated. The $1220 dollar award will be given annually to one student majoring in electronics or communications at Illinois Valley Community College.

2025 Scholarship Season Now Open!

2023 Stephen Charles Vogler Memorial Scholarship recipient:

We are pleased to award the very first 2023 Stephen Charles Vogler Memorial Scholarship for electronics or communications to Eric Lockwood, of Peru. A current student at Illinois Valley Community College, Eric plans to return to IVCC in the fall to complete his Associate of Arts in Communications. Eric is interested in both journalism and broadcast/film production and will transfer to a four-year school to work toward receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. Eric is the son of Kirk & Dawn Lockwood.
