The Seneca Historical Guild has established a Growth Endowment Fund for the Guild with the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation on the power of $10,000 in lead-gift donations.
“We are very grateful for these initial donations to establish this much needed endowment to ensure the stability of the Seneca Historical Guild and therefore providing for the preservation of the Seneca area history for generations to come,” said Jeff Maierhofer, Seneca Historical Guild President. “We hope to build this fund so we can generate interest for short term needs while saving money for larger capital projects. Of course, we will welcome and encourage others with a connection to Seneca to contribute to the Endowment Fund to help with this goal.”
The Seneca Historical Guild started in 2009 to prepare for the commemoration of Seneca’s Sesquicentennial and has since helped publish a Seneca history book and helped establish the Seneca Area Heritage Museum.
