Youth Engaged in Philanthropy
YEP TEAM MEMBERS VISITED OTTAWA FRIENDSHIP HOUSE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE REMARKABLE ORGANIZATION.
YOUTH ENGAGED IN PHILANTHROPY (YEP) is a Starved Rock Country Community Foundation initiative.
Students in the YEP program will participate in monthly meetings, leadership activities, and volunteer outreach to understand the need for philanthropy. They will learn to analyze grant applications and identify the potential impact a grant could have on other youth throughout our area. SRCCF will provide grants to support projects and programs recommended by the YEP program.
The first YEP Group was formed in September, 2016 with 17 youth, ages 10-12, from LaSalle County. The group meets on the first Sunday afternoon of every month at Jeremiah Joe Coffee, Lower Level, in Ottawa, to discuss the reason for non-profit organizations, how they are structured, managed and funded. YEP members will make recommendations for grants to be awarded by the YEP program that address community need and causes.

COIN CARD CAMPAIGN
YEP has a coin card collection campaign available for interested students. All funds raised through this coin card will be used to create a permanent fund for initiatives identified by our Youth Engaged in Philanthropy members. We appreciate your support by encouraging your child to become a young philanthropist and contribute to this worthwhile program.
All students who complete a card and return it to the Community Foundation office receive a certificate of accomplishment, a special reward, and the chance to win a prize in our YEP raffle.
