We wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the American Wind Symphony Orchestra, Maestro Boudreau, all of the host families, the city of Ottawa, the community and the generous donors that all played an integral part in making these past two visits of the AWSO unforgettable experiences. Both concerts at Allen Park were phenomenal and a welcome display of music and culture in our community. Having so many talented musicians and artists in our community was a truly an honor and something we hope we can continue to help bring to our town for years to come.
We could not have had these events if it weren’t for all of the host families. The generosity and character displayed by all families involved was incredibly moving. We also could not have hosted the AWSO if it were not for the many generous donors. Thank you so much for taking an interest in the arts and sharing that interest with the community!
Although most of the costs for this amazing and unique experience has been covered by generous donors and donations made by attendees of the concerts, there is still a need for donations to cover the remainder of the costs. SRCCF will be accepting donations here on our website. We will also accept donations in person at our office, 718 Columbus St. in Ottawa. It is unfortunate that the Point Counterpoint II has sailed her last journey with the AWSO this summer, but that doesn’t mean Ottawa and Starved Rock Country can’t continue to bring culturally diverse and artistic acts like the AWSO to our area in the future. Your continued support of events and experiences like these will pave the way for many more to come. Thanks again to everyone involved and let the music ring!
